Grateful to people buying the books I wrote. I do hope they help. I love reading stories of where they have been useful as it makes it all worthwhile! #grateful#traumaBooks
So happy to read that Betsy de Thierry is being awarded an MBE for Services to Child and Adolescent Mental Health and Trauma Recovery as part of the Kingโs Birthday Honours. Congratulations!
Her books were recommended to me by a play therapist when I began my theraputic parenting journey several years ago. It made me understand my childs perspective of experiences and helped us tremendously.

@Kessy771 Thank you Krissy! I have a lot of thoughts about how painful, traumatising and often misogynistic the courts can be. A lot of symptoms of trauma are not recognised by the courts which means that the justice system can be deeply unjust. ๐จ
The first review is in for Betsy de Thierry's Trauma Recovery Handbook! Love a review featuring the word 'PHENOMENAL'! https://t.co/3KM5S4CwG3...

All set up for @fosteringnetโs Education and Learning Conference 2024 in Northern Ireland. Pleased to have the star of the video, Dave The Rave with us! @tfn_kathleen opened brilliantly & @gregg_nikki motivated us with positive outcomes. Excited for what @betsydet has to share ๐
@betsydet is helping us think through different types of helpful responses & supports for various types of trauma. What is needed for someone who has experienced single event trauma will differ for those who have experienced multiple, pervasive trauma. @fosteringnet@tfn_kathleen

@PenAHay @TheEllieBaker @BNeiRegesh123 Oh to be in a room with you both dreaming together about a more beautiful world we could help to facilitate โค๏ธ๐ณ๐ผ๏ธ
Absolutely! We should be working together not competing for the small amount of grants. Itโs madness as we each have unique skill set and purpose- we are all needed.
To build safer communities we need a rethink. As long as local charities are forced to compete for short-term grants measured by superficial outcomes rather than any sustainable long-term benefit, we will lose their huge community knowledge & waste their community building power!
Anti-social behaviour, youth violence, school absenteeism, the mental health crisis, an overwhelmed NHSโฆall symptoms of one issue; the loss of community, belonging & hope. So, letโs invest in a new generation of early years & youth centres, & the work of local community groups!
