@TripleBadger10 @AAPneonatal@neo_twiter@WomenNeo@EBNEO@D8Neonatal@NeomindAi I enjoyed NICU rotations but lifestyle (and 3 more years of training) wasn’t what I wanted. Seeing Frank Greer multiple nights! I still get the fun of baby care but then get to hand them off to you! 😁
@drjessigold@DocWithBowtie You have time. You can call your PCP and they can call the ER to arrange it, so then you only have the injection and not the full ER visit charge (I think, depends on the ER).
@fuzzymittens Not great for the many areas without a CVS! Yes it happens. My patient had to drive 30-45minutes, past multiple other pharmacies, to get a prescription. Cities may have CVS on every corner, but not here!
@ChaseTMAnderson@letswondermind@AshleyOerman Thank you. I think there’s a lot of internalized stigma, “you wouldn’t love me if you knew”, & “this means I’m weak.” Especially in the competitive world of medical training, rewarding silence/compartmentalization as “strength”. Passive SI pops up on my bad days w/cPTSD. 😬
This doesn’t even start to address the epidemic of physician suicide, burnout, or mental health crisis. An occasional yoga class or pizza party ain’t gonna cut it. At least they can assure no cockroaches!
I realize that many think either “doctors are too privileged” or “I survived residency so yours should be hell too”. But these are basic safe conditions - bed sheets, call room, food after hours, not to mention time for health care for themselves! https://t.co/X3BquYp9fz
@aalkermd@NPRHealth@NPR I’m appalled though that they have to “request food for working after hours, bed sheets for the call rooms”, clean/sanitary call rooms, even having a call room! Those should be no-brainers! Conditions should get better not worse with time!
@aalkermd@NPRHealth@NPR We had a Union at University of Wisconsin when I was there 2002-2005, but it was disbanded in 2010, along with all the other unions of state employees by governor decree. It prevented significant increases to health ins premiums back then.
@McgeheeChad I heard you speak at the WI AAP forum in November and had previously downloaded the Healthy Minds app. You motivated me to start this practice, and I have now completed >100 consecutive sessions, and it’s definitely a part of my daily routine! Thank you!
@MerriamWebster Canceled should have 2 L’s like cancellation! Judgment (or is it judgement?) and gray (or is it grey?) are up there too - because both are accepted by spell check!
@mrshaheedmalik@MerriamWebster I still have to mentally think “grAy is American, grEy is English” I forget where I saw it, but it works for me (an American).
@WFKARS You and this issue made the @nbc15_madison news in Madison Wisconsin! Thank you for your advocacy for this patient that should have never been an issue in the first place!
