I know it's my favorite musical or whatever but sometimes I seriously forget how astounding Hadestown is. "I sang a song so beautiful the stones wept and they let me in" like are you fucking kidding me
I love THE INVITE! It’s charming and deeply funny. Everyone in the ensemble is dazzling and plays off each other’s energy so well. The architecture is a major standout. Love how Wilde plays with space as expressions of the characters’ relationships. It’s brilliant all around.
I can’t stress this enough: Olivia Wilde’s THE INVITE is the best example in recent years of old-school filmmaking. Classic directing, blocking, (lack of) camera movements, and she got the best performance out of Rogen/Cruz/Norton in recent years!!
