@leedrutman Picking just 1 candidate is also a "cognitively complex task, due to lack of information." If you bother to actually research the candidates, the work is the same. In fact, informal ranking is often part of reaching a final choice. RCV makes that work more meaningful.

@gelliottmorris Your comment stems from your hyperpartisan perspective. Yes, 60% of votes were Republican, but enough of them DID NOT WANT PALIN that they crossed party lines. GOP support is how Peltola won! Don't blame the method. Pick candidates who care about ALL voters.
