Just a hunch... the @FIDE_chess Total World Championship is a hail mary to find more event sponsorship opportunities. They are unable to market anything not called a "World Championship". The issue isn't the lack of events... it's the strategy, the communication, and the people.

FIDE’s 2024 financials have been released. Why do they still have accounts with 4 sanctioned Russian banks, holding €289K, almost 20% of their total net assets? Why hold €250K in Kazakh currency? What was their deal with Freedom Finance?
