"Yesterday was unexpectedly my last day in the Office. I was summarily fired via memo from Main Justice that did not give a reason for my termination.

Every person lucky enough to work in this office constantly hears four words to describe our ethos: Without Fear or Favor. Do the right thing, the right way, for the right reasons without fear of retribution and without favor to the powerful.

For the majority of my nearly ten years in SDNY, the hard part seemed to be acting “without favor.” That is, making sure people with access, money, and power were not treated differently than anyone else; and making sure this office remained separate from politics and focused only on the facts and the law. Fear was never really conceivable. We don’t fear bad press; we have the luxury of exceptional security keeping us physically safe; and, so long as we did our work with integrity, we would get to keep serving the public in this office.

But we have entered a new phase where “without fear” may be the challenge. If a career prosecutor can be fired without reason, fear may seep into the decisions of those who remain. I was the Campaign Manager for the Provincial Conservatives in BC.

This morning, I personally took part in counting some of the final ballots in Surrey-Guildford. @ElectionsBC staff were all incredibly diligent in their work and very thorough in ensuring transparency.

I feel confident in their work.

We now await a judicial recount in at least one riding. Regardless of whether we pull that off or even if David Eby wins government by one single vote—this is democracy.

Tuesday thoughts:

1. A vote for Trump is a vote for Musk, Thiel, Putin, and their friends.

2. Musk has indicated he may accept a "cabinet position" with Trump, centered on "government efficiency."

3. Trump's plans to slash government using "Schedule F" provisions pre-date Project 2025.

4. Musk will use Trump's nearly unlimited powers to radically reshape government and policy.

5. Expect the Federal Reserve to be eliminated and the dollar to implode.

6. Cryptocurrency and "BRICS" currency schemes are inherently unworkable at scale and if adopted will harm billions.

7. The intent of Putin's scheme is to harm the West, and Musk is happy to help.

Trump is on the way out. He's not in control. Focus on Musk, Thiel, Putin, and their allies. They are the animating force behind the Republican ticket and they are working against your interests. Onward!

@acoyne A hail mary from the BCUPs. I hope I’m not putting too much faith in BC voters to say that they’ll see through it (cost?!) BCUP desperately need something to go their way. At least we’re talking about policy. On the other hand, nobody has a costed platform (except the budget)
