Meet “Prince William,” a 3.8-metre (12 feet, 6 inches) saltwater crocodile and the 300th crocodile tagged through our world-leading research project on the Steve Irwin Wildlife Reserve.
We named him in recognition of Prince William’s remarkable commitment to conservation and to mark the halfway point of The Earthshot Prize.
Utilising the very same techniques that my dad, Steve Irwin, devised this croc is fitted with a small tracker that will provide a decade of invaluable data - all to benefit the conservation of this species and its ecosystem. It’s an incredible milestone, and a reminder of how research can contribute to conservation over generations.🌿🐊
I got nothing. Never a doubt… hardly. And possibly a tear or two! GOHAWKS!!! And Gus lifted my ass up, George wiped my tear. The one. WE GOING TO THE BIG DANCE!!! @Seahawks
We are in monsoon season. That means insane rain which you can see in the flooding.
This girl was out in that non stop. I'm happy to say we got her out of there. It's hard to believe how happy she is
To continue this legacy is the honour of my life. If I can make my dad proud, I’ve done my job. Behind everything I do is a conservation mission that my dad started.
