What did I miss?
Hi, I'm Felix. I'm an eng lead working on Claude. I love watching people take flight and do things they never thought possible.
We often describe that as "being more ambitious" when using AI, which is tricky advice to follow. I wrote a tutorial:

As CEO of Product Hunt, I see hundreds of launches a week. One trait separates winners from losers.
Every few months, new models come out. Some products become better, effortlessly. Some don't improve, or become irrelevant.
This property needs a name. I'm calling it Buoyancy.
Buoyant startups rise with model improvements the way a boat rises with the tide.
Anti-buoyant startups come in two flavors: over-scaffolded (which hinders the new, smarter models) and too thin - which makes them redundant when models improve.
To be buoyant, you need a "hull" - usually proprietary data, a vertical-specific harness, network effects, or distribution advantage. This hull keeps you buoyant as models improve.
Hulls are the new moats.
My number one advice to startups in 2026: Be buoyant. Find your hull.

THIS IS F**KING INSANE.
AI KIDS SHORTS LOOK LIKE FREE MONEY.
THAT’S THE TRAP.
Making the cartoon was never the hard part.
You can take a popular kids’ content format, feed an idea into AI, and generate a polished 15-second video in minutes.
But the real challenge starts after you hit upload.
Here’s what most people overlook:
→ Lower ad revenue: Kids’ content is typically marked “Made for Kids,” which restricts personalized advertising and can mean lower RPM.
→ Monetization risks: YouTube warns that repetitive, mass-produced, and template-based content can struggle to qualify for monetization.
→ Copying isn’t a strategy: Recreating a successful channel and flooding YouTube with nearly identical AI videos doesn’t guarantee long-term income.
So yes, the opportunity is real.
AI can generate the cartoons.
The videos can get views.
Production costs can be ridiculously low.
But views alone don’t guarantee revenue.
AI has made content production cheaper than ever.
The real question is whether you can turn that cheap production into a channel that qualifies for monetization and keeps earning.
