Camping trip in Dorset this week with my nephews, whilst setting up the tents they brought me this dead butterfly. Remains of a deceased Two-tailed Pasha!! Make of that what you will. (Norden campsite, next to corfe castle)
I was on the biggest solar farm in Canada with 1.5 million panels.
The most interesting thing I saw was the solar panels have increased the yield of the grass by protecting it from the sun and wind.
I've become friends with the farmer who is fifth generation and he has built up a herd of 2,000 sheep to graze it.
The panels have provided a ton of value to his family's land.
I wish I knew the words to try to get other Democrats to understand the truth about Israel.
It’s not morally complicated. Islamists hate Jews. They’ve started six wars and six major conflicts since 1948 because they can’t stand living next to them.
If you go to Israel and talk to people on the left or the right, they just wanna be left alone. They’re mentally exhausted. They have missiles fired at them all the time, they’re sending their children and war zones, and terrorist attacks happen constantly.
They’ve tried in good faith to negotiate over and over, and these leaders like Arafat just waste their time. Since October 7, they have a fairly right wing leader in charge who’s had enough and it’s just going on the aggressive. And it’s getting results more than diplomacy did.
Simultaneously as part of this worldwide rise of the right, the Islamist political project has figured out information warfare enough to flood all social media with bots and disinformation about Gaza. So even though Israel’s actions are justified, the horror of war produces distasteful images. Israel, unfortunately constrained with telling the truth, is losing. Part of antisemitism is people, for reasons I don’t understand, are not inclined to give Jews the benefit of any doubt.
That is the truth of this situation. And very few people who aren’t Jewish can think critically enough about their history and the power dynamics to see that. And I don’t know how to make it change.

We need to talk about the Left.
Growing up, the Left felt like the natural home of virtue and social justice. It was the obvious entry point into politics when you were finding your feet – a place where people were treated fairly and society came first. My street had direct links to the Labour Party, with many canvassing locally, and our neighbour served as a Councillor. You weren’t a bloody Tory. My older generation were hard-working, working-class Brits – receptionist, charity worker, blanket-weaver, tailor, bricklayer, housewife. The Left focussed on making their community better for themselves and for each other. For many years it felt like the default place to put your cross on the ballot paper. Maybe, in hindsight, I was always wrong, and it was never really like that.
Fast forward a few generations and large swathes of today’s Left are unrecognisable. I’m not just talking about the Crank Left anymore. Today’s mainstream Left is more regularly shaped by hate, violence, sadism, apathy, identity politics, guilt, and a rigid, black-and-white view of the world fixed in cement – labelled either good or evil.
This includes much of today’s so-called ‘regular’ Left, who wear their politics on their sleeves, pin-badges, social media bios, TikTok videos, or wrapped around their faces. They are our teachers, our doctors and nurses, our lawyers, our MPs. They are not fringe extremists anymore, standing by a trestle table muttering about overthrowing "The Man". They are a mainstream, socially acceptable toxicity, shielded by the word 'Left'. They scream through our streets dressed as jihadis on a Saturday afternoon, or draped in black calling women Nazís for being women. They walk side by side with Islamist fascists screaming for intifada in our cities. They cheer on jihad abroad. They belittle women for demanding the right to feel safe from men. They lionise murderers who shoot dead CEOs. They share memes of young Jews killed in Washington captioned with chants of "Free, Free Palestine". They post selfies playing trumpets or dancing with joy after a 31-year-old man – whose words they disliked – was executed on camera in front of thousands of students.
No one knows who killed Charlie Kirk. The belief is that it was someone from this broad church that today makes up the Left. But it could yet be someone on the Right who thought he wasn’t Right enough and sided with Jews. Or in the darkest conspiracies, a "Zionist" with a grudge. Either way, it hardly matters, because the act itself is now celebrated by a growing swathe of the Left.
The thoughtful Left-leaning friends on your social media seem to have vanished. A few years back they would change their bios to flags of nations under attack, campaign for nurses’ pay rises, or post selfies on picket lines. Now they share The Grayzone articles, memes about lynchíng JK Rowling, Press TV propaganda about the Hanníbal Directive, or dashboard rants about how Charlie Kirk’s death was poetic justice. Their former selves from ten or twenty years ago would be horrified, but they don’t even notice.
The Far Left was always there, but the banality of its evil has become mainstream. Its extremism has bled into the regular Left, a slow mission creep of hatred. Since October 7th, we’ve watched the Left dive into rape denial, atrocity porn, conspiracy theories, antisemitism, and misogyny, packaging it all up as being on the right side of history. This new breed genuinely believes it is the world’s humble, honourable, virtuous movement. They compartmentalise. A Ukrainian girl stabbed to death on a bus is ignored so as not to mention the black perpetrator. A Gazan man who ráped and mutilated an Israeli woman is excused because Israel is worse ("...and Muslíms wouldn’t rápe Jews anyway"). Starving Sudanese or Yemeni children are forgotten, because they are less fashionable than Palestinians, and the Houthis are cool anyway. The man in a dress flashed ‘her’ penis, actually.
Let’s be honest. The Far Right are no better. They just wear a different rosette. But what makes the transformation of today’s Left so dangerous is the bravado and the smug smile it comes with. They feel untouchable, because society still sees them as what the Left is meant to be, not what it is fast becoming.
The Extreme Right knows it is fascist. The Extreme Left still thinks it is virtuous.
That’s why it’s still confidently smiling.

The results were so shocking, scientists called it "comparable to therapy."

Statement from the Prime Minister's Office:
Israel acknowledges the significant step taken by the Lebanese Government, under the leadership of President Aoun and Prime Minister Salam. The recent decision by the Council of Ministers to work towards the disarmament of Hezbollah by the end of 2025 was a momentous decision. It marks a crucial opportunity for Lebanon to reclaim its sovereignty and restore the authority of its state institutions, military, and governance—free from the influence of non-state actors.
In light of this important development, Israel stands ready to support Lebanon in its efforts to disarm Hezbollah and to work together towards a more secure and stable future for both nations. If the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) take the necessary steps to implement the disarmament of Hezbollah, Israel will engage in reciprocal measures, including a phased reduction of IDF presence in coordination with the US-led security mechanism.
Now is the time for both Israel and Lebanon to move forward in a spirit of cooperation, focusing on the shared objective of disarming Hezbollah and promoting the stability and prosperity of both nations.
The account with millions of followers is posting about hunger in Gaza using heartbreaking photo of a child.
The problem? This child was starving in 2016 in Yemen. And anyone who knows how to google can check this.
🧵According to @pressfreedom’s own website, 16 “journalists” killed in Gaza worked for Al-Aqsa TV, a U.S.-designated terrorist group that "recruits children to become suicide bombers." Yet it’s still treated as uncertain that many of these “reporters” were Hamas operatives. 1/
State-backed bots from adversarial nations are real threat to national security.
Russia, China and Iran use issues like Palestine to inflame tensions, weaken alliances, and destabilize democracies. By flooding X with divisive content, they exploit free speech to erode national unity, making it harder to respond to crises cohesively. This phenomenon demands urgent attention. Bots aren't just noise-they're a weapon tearing at the roots of society, politics, economy, and security.

I've been in the UK about 3 weeks, and I am shocked at just how much Nigel Farage, Yousaf, Tice et al are on UK TV screens.
Britain has a serious far-right problem, the ideology of these fascists has been magnified and platformed to the extreme, and it has now gotten dangerously out of control. This is totally insane.
Let’s start simple: Vaccines do NOT cause autism.
This isn’t up for debate. Decades of research, millions of kids studied worldwide, zero credible evidence of a causal link. Full stop.
