All things football ⚽️
Sharing my love for the beautiful game discussing club history, past and present achievements and great stories across the game we love.
Hi everyone. Just thought I would do a first post introducing the account. Like millions of others I am really passionate about football and everything to do with the our beautiful game. Writing and learning all about it is something I am so excited about.
TB to last year when I went to watch SV Babelsberg 03 last season. Great experience watching a team in the Regionalliga Nordost. As expected the atmosphere was amazing especially with a relatively small crowd. I absolutely love the fan culture in Germany. #Babelsberg
Really looking forward to starting this series. Please take the time to like, comment and repost. I look forward to interacting with you guys about something I’m so passionate about.#History#Historyoffootball
Having done a History degree at university, I would like to pair my love of the subject and my love of football on this account. I’m going to start a new series called, ‘Football Meets Conflict’. The aim of this series is to shed light on clubs hindered by wars/political issues.
For example, looking at clubs such as Red Star Belgrade and the Yugoslav wars. Another really interesting aspect of this is clubs playing within the Soviet Sphere of influence during the Cold War. Comment any stories you would like me to explore.
Plettenberg reporting that Jobe has agreed to join Borussia Dortmund.
Can’t fault him for his attitude during his time at the club.
A relegation battle or Champions League football? Obvious decision.
Bought for £1.5m, sold for £25.3m two years later.
Great business!

@KPVFC10 Hi mate not sure how to message you just thought I would drop a comment. This sounds really interesting and something I would love to get involved in if there were spaces left.
One of the most interesting things I found out was that the club are managed by ex Newcastle manager John Carver. This definitely wasn’t something I excepted 😂. I hope you guys have enjoyed this thread and learnt something new. #lechiagdansk
I am in the beautiful city of Gdansk in Poland this weekend. The city itself is beautiful and has a great vibe about it. I want to bring history and football together with this account. I thought I would make a thread on the history of the ‘Biało-Zieloni’, Lechia Gdansk.
The club were relegated from the Polish top flight the ‘Ekstraklasa’ in 22/23. The first time the club had been in the second division since the 06/07 season. However, they won the second division league last year and are now back in the top flight.
@windowintlpod Reading this post and Lewandoski’s name popping up I just can’t believe the numbers he still puts up at the age of 36. Can easily make the argument that he’s been Europes most elite striker since 2020.
On the other hand, PSG with one of the younger squads in the champions league this season. Amazing attacking threat and so exciting to watch. I personally think Inter’s experience will come good for them but it should be a tight contest. What does everyone else think? #UCLfinal
Looking ahead to tomorrows champions league final which I think will be a great battle of two contrasting teams. I love how Inzahgi has taken this Inter side with older players and reinvented some of them to fit his system so perfectly.
Being from the UK, I find it really interesting that this type of system is used lots across the continent to determine promotion or relegation. I personally love the play off system we have in England but what do you guys make of the alternative seen across Europe.
Some big games across the continent tonight. The second leg of the French relegation/promotion play off between Stade Reims and Metz with the first game finishing 1-1. Reims are one of the most successful clubs in France with six Ligue 1 titles. Should be a great spectacle.
