NEW: Activists in Germany Blockading Far-Right Youth Convention Violently Beat by Police

Over 50,000 people attempted to block the founding convention for the new youth organization of the far-right AfD party on Nov. 29 in Gießen, Germany. Wide-ranging actions, including 19 blockades around the small city, prevented a majority of participants from attending. The AfD had dismantled its previous youth party after the German Intelligence Service declared it a right-wing extremist group. Police violently beat blockaders. Reports note a large drop in conference attendance with a few hundred participants of the expected thousands.

Ich wollte auf den Fall von Maja T. aufmerksam machen, einer deutschen antifaschistischen und nicht-binären Person, die von Deutschland ausgeliefert wurde und derzeit in Ungarn unter Bedingungen der „weißen Folter“ inhaftiert ist. Ein Termin für den Prozess steht noch nicht fest.

Zusammen mit dem Co-Präsidenten von
@Left_EU @schirdewan habe ich eine parlamentarische Anfrage zu dieser schwerwiegenden Rechtsverletzung an die Europäischen Kommission vorgelegt.

Ich lade neben allen Antifaschisten auch die transfeministischen und queeren Bewegungen ein, die Aufmerksamkeit auf Maja zu richten und alles zu tun, um konkrete Solidarität auszudrücken.
