‘ISAMPA NIYA ANG ETHICS CASE AT DOON NA PAG-USAPAN’
Sen. Kiko Pangilinan urged that Sen. Robin Padilla file an ethics complaint instead, saying the matter should be discussed at the ethics committee as “there are more important things to tackle,” but Padilla pushed back, questioning whether a veteran senator could not simply issue an apology.

(Screen grab from ABS-CBN News)

SIERRA MADRE LOSING 9,000 HECTARES ANNUALLY
The Philippines’ longest mountain range, the Sierra Madre, has long served as a natural carbon sink and as Luzon's storm buffer. Despite its environmental significance, the nearly 1.4-million-hectare forest is disappearing at a rate of 9,000 hectares per year, according to the Haribon Foundation.

Cebu is drowning — not just in rain, but in greed. When developers strip our mountains bare and DENR looks away, floods become inevitable. It’s time to fight back. File a Writ of Kalikasan. Protect Cebu.
The silver lining to this is that with every disaster that comes, we get reminded of the egregious corruption that underlines these catastrophies. And it isn’t the kind of corruption that’s easy to shake off nor difficult to imagine, in fact it’s so close to the gut, felt on our everyday commute, and even more made visceral by images of ravaged communities and displaced families. Perhaps the notorious Filipino short-term memory has finally found its match.
I’m so mad and furious right now. Cebuanos prepared so well. We stocked up on the basics and daily necessities ahead of time. But because of these substandard flood control projects, we’re once again left in this devastating situation.
Areas that were never prone to flooding are now underwater. People are still trying to recover from the earthquake, and now we’re facing this again.
I truly admire the resilience of the Cebuanos, but this shouldn’t always be about resilience. We deserve accountability. Let’s make sure these corrupt officials are put behind bars. IKULONG ANG MGA KURAKOT!
It’s been so long! How come no one has been held accountable yet!?
26 BILLION OF FLOOD CONTROL FUNDS FOR CEBU, WHERE ARE THOSE?
