One thing that attracted me to this state was our way of doing things differently. We don't need to copy other states, we need to practice good governance. Unicameralism and a split EC were examples.

We don't need a united voice, we need a representative voice. We may have a state wide vote for US Sen, but we don't have state wide votes for US reps, and there's a reason for that. The EC is the same principle.

I think the closest way to get nonpartisan appointments is to have different parties leading the exec and Senate. But of course there is no way to institutionalize that.
