#MECON has successfully installed the 1st Indigenous Basic Oxygen Furnace (BOF) Converter in SMS–II, SAIL–Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP), in collaboration with technology provider SPCO, Japan and consortium partner SPI, Kolkata.

The first heat was tapped on 08.11.2025, marking the start of operations and a major stride in strengthening indigenous technology and self-reliance in steelmaking. 🇮🇳🔥
