As nurses we need to identify older adults who are at risk of decline & support independence recognising that physical injury can result in mental decline also mental decline may result in physical decline. We need to build confidence & guide them to access & use services#UOBCOHW

QoL can be measured using many different tools, but can we really measure an individuals quality of life? Each individuals QoL depends on how they live their life and how the patients, health care professionals and services perceive it to be. #UOBCOHW

As nurses we have lots of power over our patients we need to use it effectively and help patients access relevant information that will educate them! We also need to encourage and empower them to take change of there own health and well-being #UOBCOHW

As nurses we need to treat adolescents with the same respect as any other individual but have an understanding that they are going through changes that may be affecting their role identity #UOBCOHW

#UOBCOHW As nurses we need to look at patients with unconditional positive regard, their self image should be supported and promoted in a non judgmental way because body image is easily influenced by social influences and media often in a negative way.

Looking at child development from a sociological and environment point of view we can see that vggotsk’s theory shows the microsystem closely impacts this immediate development #UOBCOHW

Our ethics can be influenced by our culture, depending on our different beliefs, the way we manage our health could also be dependent on this #UOBCOHW

To be mindful time has to be made, even if it’s just 5 minuets of the day techniques and interventions can be tailored to individuals (Written with group K) #UOBCOHW

Even from a young age gender rolls are drilled into us, males being strong and dominant and females being caring and weak. Transgender can cause confusion due to lack of knowledge and acceptance in modern society. #UOBCOHW

From doing the privilege walk our group feel sad about how many people were stepping back and how it showed we’re all from different backgrounds but now share the fact of being at university together! #UOBCOHW

Family dynamics have changed over time nuclear families remain but there are more blended families & families of choice. The responsibilities of families have changed too: aged parents & gender roles have reversed. As nurses we need to understand there is more diversity #UOBCOHW

The new class system highlights the fact we live in a world where there is a deep need to classify everything and put everyone into brackets. As nurses we need to look past this being mindful of individual circumstances and how to it will impact on them as service users #uobcohw
