Join us this long weekend at the Victoria Butterfly Gardens for a #family adventure! You’ll meet curious creatures in our Insectarium, like the Frogg-legged #Beetle. The males of this colourful species have extremely powerful hind legs that they use for battling with other males.

The Blue Morpho #butterfly, or Morpho peleides, are experts at hanging out incognito. The underside of their wings have large, eyespot patterns that are used as a defense mechanism by mimicking the eyes of larger animals, such as birds or mammals.

Meet Reggie the Fly River Turtle! Unlike most turtles, male Fly River turtles never leave the water, and female Fly River turtles will only leave the water to lay eggs and nest. Learn more about our Fly River Turtles by visiting us this holiday season!
