What’s happening in Ceuta is an absolute disgrace. The Spanish government has failed in its most basic duty — to defend its borders and to protect its people. They have abandoned the people of Ceuta — and given notice that no border towns will be defended. These men wear no uniform, and they have no officers, but this is nevertheless an invading army of the worst sort: a crazed, undisciplined mob that rapes and loots at will, and attacks Spaniards in the open street.

A government that does not defend its borders or its citizens has no reason to exist.
