Root nodules are evidence of the symbiotic relationship that has already formed between the soybeans and Rhizobia bacteria. Within the nodules lies nitrogen, which was converted from the atmosphere thanks to this relationship. It’s been a fun task so far! #TeachAg#FutureTeacher
Here are photos of one of my tasks for the week. I’ve been digging up soybean plants, washing the roots, and counting the amount of nodules attached to the root systems. With this protocol, there’s 128 plants that need to be dug!
