When simulation becomes the norm, it weakens the human capacity for discernment. As a result, our social bonds close in upon themselves, forming self-referential circuits that no longer expose us to reality. We thus come to live within bubbles, impermeable to one another. Feeling threatened by anyone who is different, we grow unaccustomed to encounter and dialogue. In this way, polarization, conflict, fear and violence spread. What is at stake is not merely the risk of error, but a transformation in our very relationship with truth.
@kenklippenstein This is incorrect. Congress has not yet renewed ICE’s budget. House voted but Senate hasn’t yet. They need 10 Dem votes in the Senate. We can still stop it
Paxton now wants to appeal? He literally already admitted he broke the law to @SupremeCourt_TX and the Travis County District Court - all to stop his own deposition. Truly lawless and shameless.
@club4growth Tell your elected officials to fully fund public education! Texas plans to give private school students 40% MORE per student funding than is allotted to public schools. Let's invest that into public schools for 5 years - then we can make an informed decision about "choice."
Psychologically Speaking, what's a delusion? It's a fixed false belief based on an inaccurate interpretation of external reality despite evidence to the contrary. That's similar to lying to oneself and to others that 1/6 wasn't violent; it was a "love-fest." Being delusional rather than dealing with reality is potentially dangerous re anyone with power who's making critical life/death; war/peace & other serious decisions that powerfully & negatively impact large groups of people (as the USA is experiencing now). Heaven help us.
.@elonmusk you are brilliant! @gop leaders today in some states makes illegal to distribute hot food or even water in cold days , to the people waiting to vote for hours….but is legal to do a banana republic show, buying attention and votes with money? Is sad my boy….you have such a potential to unite the world…and you prefer to break it into pieces…I don’t get it…
