@steelydante Today's experience with that for me was the one-two punch of We All Fall In Love Sometimes and Curtains on Elton's "Captain Fantastic." But yeah, Find the River nails it. I still think Father John Misty should've closed "Pure Comedy" with Magic Mountain but that's just me...
@Steven_Hyden I only got to see them once -- 1990 at a club in Montreal -- but knew a good chunk of the records. The last song was Mote, which turned into a sort of ambient feedback symphony courtesy of Lee and Thurston. Worthy descendents of the Velvets.
@w_ulanowski@U2@U2TourFan@fansofu2@GlobalNetworker Loved it back then and gave it another listen recently after the new EP came out. I'll also give a shout out to 'The First Time' and 'Stay (Faraway, So Close)'. I actually prefer it to Achtung, which might be sacrilege.
@paranoiacs My introduction to REM was when MuchMusic (or "Canada's MTV") played the "Left of Reckoning" video collection in its entirety in 1984. Hearing Time After Time and Pretty Persuasion married to those hallucinogenic Super 8 visuals, I was hooked.
@TheresaKereakes I concur with the majority here -- great shot, and the 'lopsided' nature of it implies motion, as well as the 'askew' nature of the times...
@vurnt22 Saw the last line-up of King Crimson and as a longtime Fripp fan, it was beyond incredible to be able to see and hear him play. I was actually rendered speechless, and going to see a friend's band play later that night, couldn't form a sentence.
@gothburz@HouseDemocrats "I am paying more for less and the difference is patriotism." Love it. You should write the sarcastic, snarky campaign ads that should be part of the next election.
@fatherjohnmisty Allow me to be the first on this platform to use a rock critic term to describe the new single: "menacing." Digging it, love the outro.
