@ja6szv@YankaiP@ba1pk I also used a tripod before, but when operating with vertical polarization, the VHF antenna kept scraping against the tripod legs.
This was my roughest QSO yet. Heavy rain pouring down, I had to hold an umbrella. Fell behind on replies, but I kept sending back signals as best I could.
@kikori1906 I reviewed the audio recording and heard your call. I also called you back, yet we couldn’t complete the QSO because the elevation angle was too low.
@west1911_jn2qcv Your radio contacts have been extremely successful, even better than most amateur radio operators in China. Certificates will be available on the CRA website on August 1st, and you should get one.
@west1911_jn2qcv Every region has organized offline exchanges, where everyone showcases their radio equipment and shares on-air communication experience. It’s been a fantastic event.
@ja6szv Haha, I don't work the linear satellites, so my setup is pretty lightweight, more of a casual style. I packed up quickly and headed in to take shelter from the rain.
Totally forgot to check the satellite pass schedule before leaving. Got to the site just to find there’s no satellite coming up, and then it started pouring. Epic fail, haha.
