CNN catches up with some of the voters who questioned Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico at our Texas town hall. They were undecided at the time. Where do they stand now?
Trump, in Florida, looks and sounds terrible. He's slurring, he's angry, he's hoarse, he's shot. I'm not just saying this, I mean it -- he is LOSING votes for the GOP.
Ana Navarro: “For the last two years Donald Trump has been unhinged. A war nobody wants, tariffs nobody wants, cost of living nobody wants. His fixation with monuments, The Kennedy Center, the Reflecting Pool, the arch, the ballroom, while people can’t make ends meet. And the cruelty, his targeted attacks on diversity. It’s just been endless suffering without any reining in from Republicans. The sale of the pardons, the corruption, the profiteering off the presidency. If Democrats don’t win and provide some accountability, God help us all”

🇺🇦🇷🇺 ZELENSKYY WARNS PUTIN: RUSSIA WILL NO LONGER ESCAPE THE CONSEQUENCES OF ITS OWN WAR
Ukraine is preparing to intensify strikes against Russian oil refineries in response to Moscow’s renewed air campaign, with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warning that Russia can no longer expect to attack Ukrainian territory without suffering consequences at home.
“It will no longer be the case that only the country under attack suffers. The nature of war is now such that the aggressor will suffer as well. Technology makes this possible.”
Zelenskyy’s warning reflects Ukraine’s growing investment in domestically developed long-range drones and missiles, which allow Kyiv to reach targets far beyond the front lines.
Russian oil refineries are particularly important because fuel production supports military logistics while petroleum revenues remain a major source of income for the Russian economy.
By expanding attacks on these facilities, Ukraine aims to increase the economic and logistical costs of Moscow’s invasion while responding to Russian strikes against Ukrainian infrastructure.
The strategy also marks a change in the balance of vulnerability. Russia’s geographical depth once offered considerable protection to industrial facilities far from the battlefield. Long-range Ukrainian weapons are increasingly challenging that advantage.
Zelenskyy’s message to Moscow is straightforward: as Russia intensifies its attacks on Ukraine, Kyiv intends to expand the scale and reach of its response.
BREAKING: Pete Hegseth PUNISHES the poor sailor who jumped off a US Navy ship -- AND his family -- in a heartless show of cruelty and spite!
Nicholas McKelvey was just 19 years old when he reached the end of his rope aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln.
He had spent 255 grueling days at sea, working 12-hour shifts in punishing heat, often without enough food, while his wife struggled to raise their children back home.
He had missed the birth of his baby daughter. His mother-in-law was in treatment for cancer. And when he sought help for his deteriorating mental health, he says the Navy directed him to a chaplain instead of a mental health professional.
Then, one August morning, McKelvey ran across the flight deck and plunged 67 feet into the Arabian Sea.
A helicopter crew rescued him. But instead of treating his desperate act as a mental health emergency, the Navy accused him of FAKING his crisis to escape deployment.
And on Thursday, the Navy moved to discharge him under conditions that will cost him his G.I. Bill education benefits – the very benefits he and his wife had been counting on to build a better life for their children.
“They'd rather blame the victim,” his wife, Samantha Larry, told The NYT.
McKelvey and Larry have been together since middle school. They became parents as teenagers, dropped out of high school and married last year. He joined the Navy in 2024 in hopes of giving his family some sort of stable future.
What he found instead was life aboard an aircraft carrier whose deployment stretched to a near-record 322 days as the war with Iran dragged on. Food supplies dwindled. Contact with home became difficult. McKelvey told his wife he wasn't sure he could finish the deployment.
“I didn't want to be there anymore,” he told the Times. “If I was going to die because of it, then that's just how it is.”
McKelvey was not alone in his existential angst. According to the Navy's own report to Congress, there were EIGHT suicide attempts among sailors in the Lincoln strike group during the deployment.
The Navy maintains that McKelvey deliberately jumped overboard to get out of his duties. Its records note that he wore a flotation vest and jumped when the sea was relatively calm. But one officer acknowledged in a report that the deployment had been so difficult it was “unsurprising that we might have a jumper.”
Now McKelvey and his wife are preparing to return to Florida with their 3-year-old son and 8-month-old daughter. They're staying with relatives and in temporary rental housing while they figure out how to support their family.
“We're going to have to pull out student loans,” Larry said. “It is essentially setting us up for just putting us in debt.”
The Navy kept these sailors at sea for nearly 11 months, sent them into a war zone, worked them through punishing conditions and watched their mental health deteriorate. Eight suicide attempts in a single strike group should have set off every alarm in the Pentagon.
Even if every day of that deployment was militarily necessary, the sacrifices these sailors made deserve recognition, compassion and care.
Instead, when one 19-year-old father finally broke, the Navy accused him of faking it and took away the college benefits he had earned his family's hopes on.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth loves to preach his “warrior ethos,” but what kind of warrior culture treats a sailor's psychological collapse as a disciplinary problem rather than a human emergency?
McKelvey gave the Navy everything he had until he had nothing left to give. Now the institution he served is sending him home to his wife and two small children with fewer opportunities than he had when he enlisted.
If this is how America repays the sacrifices of its young service members, the Pentagon has a great deal more to worry about than its recruiting numbers.
A reminder that Elon Musk is a Canadian citizen. His wealth, influence, and U.S. citizenship do not exempt him from Canadian law.
He can face criminal charges and arrest if there is evidence that he committed an offence Canada has jurisdiction to prosecute. Some Canadian laws also apply to conduct abroad.
There are concrete reasons for Canadian authorities to examine his role in the operation of X and xAI. In June 2026, Canada’s Privacy Commissioner found that both companies violated federal privacy law after launching Grok’s image-generation tool without adequate safeguards. The tool was used to create and share non-consensual sexualized deepfakes targeting women and children. Privacy Commissioner’s findings
Those findings concern the companies. The next question is what Musk himself knew and did. What warnings did he receive? What decisions did he make about safeguards? Did he direct, encourage, or knowingly assist conduct that amounts to a criminal offence?
Canadian authorities should examine those questions, particularly where Canadian victims are involved. Canada criminalizes the non-consensual distribution of qualifying intimate images. A person who counsels an offence can also bear criminal responsibility when the law’s requirements are met. Establishing Musk’s liability would require evidence of his personal involvement. Criminal Code, section 162.1, section 22
France has already moved to examine that responsibility. In May 2026, Paris prosecutors announced a judicial investigation into X’s operations and requested formal investigation of Musk personally, alongside the companies and another executive. The allegations involve child sexual abuse imagery, non-consensual sexual deepfakes, and unlawful data practices. They remain unproven. Canadian investigators should assess whether evidence from that investigation concerns Canadian victims or offences prosecutable here.
Canada’s treason provisions also apply to Canadian citizens abroad. They cover specific acts, including assisting an enemy at war with Canada or armed forces fighting Canadian Forces, and using force or violence to overthrow a Canadian government. A treason charge would require evidence of conduct meeting those conditions. Criminal Code, section 46
If Canadian authorities obtained an arrest warrant, Musk could be arrested upon entering Canada. If he remained in the United States, Canada could seek extradition under the treaty and U.S. law. His US citizenship would not, by itself, prevent it.
Canadian authorities should investigate his personal role and pursue charges if the evidence supports them. He should face the same scrutiny as anyone else.
