Made this free website accessibility action reporting tool a while back. It would be nice to see people getting some value from it, so help yourself 🤓 https://t.co/9WGGEc4Ct8
@edfenergy nobody turned up to fit my smart meter last Friday after staying in for it. No comms at all. Sent you a WhatsApp on Saturday — still no reply. Can somebody get in touch please?
@karlgoldstraw I can so relate. I like to take a progressive enhancement approach and build out from a strong, accessible foundation. Problem is, people then don't understand why we can't just install 'x' theme or 'y' plugin like "everyone else". Facepalm.
@karlgoldstraw @blindandb0ujee Hey @karlgoldstraw - I'd be interested in hearing about your experiences. My current experience and interest in inclusive design and web accessibility stems from work I did with the Open University over the last few years.
@karlgoldstraw I guess if you define specialist as “a person who concentrates primarily on a particular subject or activity”, then it’s easier to self proclaim. If you’re talking more about the level of skill, then yes, harder to self proclaim without more evidence..?
@annaecook 💯 I tell people that it’s a journey of improvement! Start off small, find an issue, learn how and why to fix it and then keep going. As your knowledge improves, you will find you start to bring that knowledge to the design process earlier on.
@BenNadel You’re welcome! Is this for your CF blogging platform? Great to see inclusive design thought going into it — such details often overlooked 🙌🏻
@BenNadel Hey @BenNadel! If you give the code sample a role of "region" or wrap it in a <section> tag and then add an "aria-label", assistive devices should announce it before giving the option to start reading what's inside or allow the user to skip past it.
Discussions in the team today about keeping the right balance with our marketing strategies to reflect an open and integral company culture - so I created a scale we can vote on #TPB#bubbles
