As a committed Federer fan i remember the day very
well when he won historic 10th Halle trophy.
He followed it up at Basel, his home turf where he repeated
the unique feat. Nadal no doubt won 14 FO titles;
Djokovic ten AO titles but neither of them won 10 titles
at 2 ATP events
Glad very glad i felt while watching the match that
"Oh Boy" Alcaraz started playing his trademark
aggressive game in the deciding third set. Lehecka who'd won second set in tie-break looked non-plussed
all the time as there was a bombardment of sort from
all sides. Wimbledon!
@atptour@carlosalcaraz@QueensTennis I'm posting my reply but feel sad at heart my profile
has no photo. I woner where my profile with photo
has disappeared.
Lehecka did win the second set in tie-break leveling
the score 1-1 but any hope entertained by him he'd
win the third set & the match was just dashed to the
ground by the way Alcaraz played his aggressive game.
Seems pep-talk by Ferrero had the desired effect. Drop
shot thenlob
It's again my old profile without my photo. I don't know
how it happens with me from time to time. This morning
i had my photo with the comments i posted but come
evening, profile with photo's disappeared. Hope it'd
re-appear soon.
@gghamari It's the misfortune of Iran that it's being ruled by
fundamentalist religious leaders. They'r deeply
entrenched now. No voting in Iran to establish a
democratic set-up. Ayatullah Khameini has appointed
his successors, all religious leaders like him. People'r
sick of their rule
@ayeejuju She's a slur on the teaching profession. Teachers whether male or female are expected to set an
example in morality & dignified conduct before the
students. To send n'des that too to a 14 year
old boy is, for a retired college teacher for me, a
crime. Right she was arrested.
@AshishSinghKiJi Democracy can't finish in any state of India including
Rajasthan. I've taught in a Bikaner college for over
30 years & know office bearers of Students' unions
were arrested when they carried on an agitation either
for academic reasons or political reasons. Nothing
new in that.
Great on the part of Bublik to win Halle title the second time & be in the
august company of Roger Federer who won it record
ten times. Medvedev this time failed at the top.
Bublik's in high spirits right from the day he defeated
the title holder Sinner, the winner in firstround
Double fault at crucial stage 5-5 in the tie-break
cost "Oh Boy" Alcaraz the second set. Lehecka's
played at the maximum speed & power to win the
second set & he did it. Now the third set. Inconsistency
again! Alcaraz must play with full concentration if
he wants to third set.
"Oh Boy" Alcaraz Lehecka final match at Queen's Club
in London has entered an exciting stage. Alcaraz won
the first set 7-5 but Lehecka came fighting back in
the second set. It's tie-break now. Alcaraz must win
it to wrap up the match & Lehecka must win it to
level the score.
India's decision to send delegations consisting of
prominent leaders of various political parties including
Parliamentarians is timely. What Pak-trained barbarians did in
Pahalgam has brought disgrace to humanity as a whole.
Pakistan'd be boycotted by all countries of the world
As a well-wisher of Sabalenka i feel really sad she
lost at de Italia. This is a big setback for her winning
FO title. But i know Sabalenka's a determined player
who's not bothered about a defeat here & there. She's
a lady of iron will & inflexible determination. She'd
bounceback
By winning de Italian title "Oh Boy" Alcaraz established
himself as the champion player though he's still No. 3.
Today he'd be No. 2 replacing Zverev after the historic
Rome victory. Rome title's a big boost for Alcaraz' chances of winning FO title also. Djokovic can't win FO.
@tum_onnom It is & rightly so. Many would have been waylaid as i'd
put it had the secret about her phenomenal riches
not been disclosed to all & sundry.
