Disasters shouldn’t mean risking lives over something as basic as food. MERRILLY is here to change that. Your support can help provide gluten-free essentials to those in need during crises. Every share & donation counts. Let’s make a difference together!

We take for granted those town workers out in the heat doing their jobs. These workers keep the Town of Matthews, NC - Government an amazing place to live and visit. Thank them for the work they do to keep Matthews great!

A Matthews gem off Hwy 51, Purser-Hulsey Park is beautiful as it is now, and will be amazing when the build-out from the bond funds finally come to reality. Take a drive over there and enjoy the view.
I’ll keep Matthews an outdoor experience!

Happy Friday! What a week it’s been. On Monday, I filed to be on the ballot in Nov. for Matthews Town Commission. I ran into my NC state senator, @woodsonbradley. If you think your vote doesn’t count, have a talk with her. She won by 209 votes.

It takes emotional and monetary support to keep a campaign going. Thank you for all the support you provide!

Matthews will be affected by the federal budget bill. How? That is to be determined. As a candidate & commissioner, I will work to ensure our residents, visitors & town services do not face many cuts that may need to be made.
Please, support me: https://t.co/T5zxEKOjbh
Just a few hours before the end of the quarter for funding. If you can help, it will be greatly appreciated. This will help with my finances to get me through to the election in November. I will be filing for candidacy next Monday, July 7.
Thank you!

Now that there are clouds blocking the sun it is nice outside. I’ll be here (Carolina Beer Temple) until at least 3. Come grab a beverage of any type and have a sit for a bit.

On Monday, I spoke out at the Town of Matthews Board of Commissioners meeting about the three commissioners who had alternative ideas for how to make the budget balanced. Forward to 4:40:00. It’s a pain to do, but I respect the town’s right to the video.

At last night’s #TownOfMatthews Commissioner’s meeting the FY 25-26 budget was passed. This was despite efforts of three members trying make it a balanced budget that the town manager and interim town manager stated was nearly impossible. Did they offer any solutions No!

My name is Ken McCool and I am running for North Carolina House District 105!
When I first ran for the Matthews Town Board at 21. I had no big name, no political machine. Just a deep love for this community and a determination to get to work.
And we did get to work.
In just a few years, we have expanded affordable housing, delivered a new fire station, and made the largest investment in parks in a generation.
I played a key role in approving the Hendrick Advanced Manufacturing site, a major project that is going to bring high-paying jobs and cutting-edge industry right here to our region.
That’s real economic development. That’s what leadership looks like.
But while we’ve been building here at home, Raleigh’s been busy tearing trust apart. Culture wars. Party switches. Political theater, while working families struggle with rising costs.
And in the middle of it all, some politicians are working to roll back freedoms, including the rights of women to make personal decisions about their own health and futures. We cannot go backward.
It’s time for something better, leadership with fresh ideas, focused on serving people, not political parties.
Thats why I am running for North Carolina House, to fight for what actually matters: lower costs, good jobs, better schools, and leaders who don’t forget who they work for.
I’ve shown what it means to lead, to show up, listen, and deliver.
So if you’re ready to send someone to Raleigh who’s built trust and delivered results follow this campaign, share this video, and chip in what you can.
Let’s flip this seat.
Let’s grow our economy.
And let’s get back to work

Ardrey Kell High School HOSA is sponsoring a blood drive this Saturday. Appointments are encouraged (on the flyer). Help those who may need blood, and help a wonderful high school club.
Statement About ICE Activity in Charlotte
The actions of ICE in Charlotte on Monday, May 12 are disturbing. The message being sent by apprehending someone near enough to schools so that those in the area live in fear is “What’s next and when will it happen to me?”

At the Town of Matthews Board of Commisioners’ special meeting for the Town Manager’s FY 2025-2026 recommended budget.
Need to pay attention to this to know what I am working with when elected in November!
