Today is the day π

Running Economy (RE) | How do we measure it?
After a short break, we continue our insightful running wisdom series, giving you the knowledge to improve your training.
This week our sports scientist @ol_armstrong explains how we measure running economy β¬οΈ

The 2021 Virgin Money #LondonMarathon is π‘ππ«π§ π π’π‘π§π.
Sunday 3 October 2021, exactly 889 days after it was last held in April 2019.
It's been a long wait, but we're delighted to be taking over the capital once more.
This year more than ever, #WeRunTogether
Iβm halfway through my 10k in 40 mins @bhamrunproject - just about managing to drop bad habits & learnt (the hard way!) how important flexibility is compared to stretching
Few early glitches messed up my program slightly, but we are back on track!

We have something special lined up for the next session. Stay tuned...π
1st time pacing (sub 1:40) with @racepacing at the London Landmark Half Marathon @LLHalf. What a great event and happy to pace, brilliant effort to all those that ran today, hope you raised loads for your charity or got the time you wanted.
Today marks the first day of our athlete's #TeamBRP journey. All athletes have been tested, bespoke training programmes have been sent out, and it's time to get to work πͺ
Who's excited for the next few months? We are!
Athlete Introductions | Clare Colquhoun
Looking to smash her marathon PB at the @LondonMarathon, Clare joined #TeamBRP to improve her running speed and efficiency, to access expert advice, and to understand why she has reached a plateau with her running.

Athlete Introductions | Anthony Tattum (@anthonytattum)
Looking to smash his 10K PB this autumn at the @Great_Run Birmingham, Anthony joined #TeamBRP as he loves the idea of a personalised training programme designed by a top-tier sports scientist and expert running coaches.
Athlete Introductions | Caroline Edwards
Caroline joined #TeamBRP following a loss of confidence in early 2021.
Now getting back into running and looking for inspiration, Caroline is looking forward to learning more about her running through science and structure.
It was all systems go in the lab yesterday as #TeamBRP athlete @anthonytattum was put through his paces.
Our athletes receive a sub-max, and VO2 max test. The results are analysed and used by our coaches to design a training program specific to the athlete's running goals.
Athlete Introductions | Mark Judge (@Judgey37)
Next up is #TeamBRP athlete Mark. Looking to smash his PB this autumn at the @LondonMarathon, Mark joined #TeamBRP to see how his body can perform and react to better training, and to be the best he can be!
