In a major blow to drug trafficking networks, officers of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) have seized 270 kilogram (worth ₹81 Crore) of Mephedrone, a synthetic narcotic drug, in a meticulously planned operation spanning multiple states on 11th-12th January, 2026.
👉The contraband was being domestically transported concealed under chicken feed, used as cover cargo, a novel modus operandi adopted by the drug syndicate to evade scrutiny.
👉Follow-up searches conducted at multiple locations resulted in the apprehension of key members of the syndicate, who were involved in the manufacture and supply of the seized contraband.
👉Some raw material was also found in a dismantled clandestine drugs manufacturing facility

During the duty from 15th-17th December 2025, officers of the Airport Commissionerate, Mumbai Customs Zone–III, effected significant seizures. A total of 8.467 Kg of hydroponic weed was seized from one passenger arriving from Bangkok, and 2.270 kg of 24 KT Gold dust valued at Rs. 2,89,73,690/- and 230 grams of 24KT gold valued at Rs. 29,35,660/- seized in 3 different cases involving transit passengers and airport staff. A total 5 passengers were arrested in connection with these cases.

During the duty from 11th-15th December 2025, officers of the Airport Commissionerate, Mumbai Customs Zone–III, effected significant seizures. A total of 33.422 kg of suspected NDPS (Hydroponic Weed), valued at approximately Rs. 33.422 crores in the illicit market, were recovered across 08 cases. A total of 11 passengers were arrested in connection with these cases.
