@paraschopra The value system changes too. Physical strength also became blockbusterized: action movies, UFC, powerlifting, etc. Now people hire physical strength less to get work done and more to experience it vicariously. Intellect might have a similar fate.

Maybe the correct relevant question is "Is correlation more fundamental than causation?".
Neural nets excel at finding patterns, potentially deriving physical laws from data. Yet, causal understanding provides depth and insight into why phenomena occur.
