AHAR: Steep excise duty hike threatens hospitality sector Growth in Maharashtra.
The Indian Hotel and Restaurant Association (AHAR) has voiced serious concern over the sharp increase in excise duty in Maharashtra, warning that it could severely hamper the growth of the state’s hospitality industry.
AHAR President Sudhakar Shetty remarked, “Our industry is facing a wave of financial burdens. First, the VAT was doubled from 5% to 10%. Then, license fees were raised by 15%. Now, the steep increase in excise duty—over 60%—will deeply impact the
hospitality ecosystem.”

@richapintoi All illegal structmust be demolished unless it belongs to us or our community. This is the Indian mindset. What was the urgency of transferring ward officer who just following court orders. I think MC was under the pressure of ministers and politicians attending the morcha.
@xksund@richapintoi You people forget that the structure was illegal. The society wouldn’t get OC as long as the structure is demolished. No one is blaming the builders because they are Jain’s themselves.
@Kamlakar_Shenoy@richapintoi Right.Public complains why doesn’t BMC doesn’t take action against illegal constructions but they must not demolish our own illegal structures.Shame on ministers and politicians supporting such illegal structures and even go the extent of transferring AMCs if follow court orders.
