So here's the breakdown of each of these categories
1. Entry Roles: These are starter roles like Deshi (the student/apprentice).
You can get this role by introducing yourself, showing genuine curiosity, asking questions, and dropping a meme, thread, or post about Irys.
These roles are the foundation, and anyone can earn them by starting to engage.
2. Contribution Roles: These build on activity, like Shugo (the protector/practitioner).
You can gain this by joining events, sharing ideas and insights, participating in conversations, creating quality content (tech analysis, memes, etc.), and staying consistent.
Focus on value over spam—quality interactions matter.
3. Advanced/Leadership Roles: Higher tiers like Senshi (the warrior) and Shihan (the master).
• Senshi requires starting meaningful convos, supporting new members, mentoring, and leading by example.
• Shihan involves hosting initiatives/community calls, offering thoughtful feedback, sharing experience, and promoting Irys narratives outside Discord.
These reflect growth, mastery, and real impact.
4. Special Roles: This includes Ambassador (specialist Ambassador), which is selected by the team (recruited in the first week of each month).
Show exceptional contribution: create standout content, build in the Irys ecosystem (vibe coding, columns, etc.), attract new audience, and help promote beyond Discord.
These roles aren't automatic @irys_xyz team sees all your contributions and will reward accordingly.

Data that passes validation is promoted to the Publish Ledger, Irys’s permanent layer.
