We are a large three form entry primary school in Torquay, Devon. Year 2 is made up of Turtles, Jellyfish and Seahorses classes.

Today in Seahorses class, we have been learning about the relationship between arrays and bar models. The children worked hard to create both on their whiteboards using counters. Well done! #mathematicians @BHA_TQ

Jellyfish class have been enjoying working with 2D shapes in maths. They have been playing games to identify shapes by how many sides or vertices they have, making shapes and comparing them. Well done Jellyfish class! #mathematicians @AETAcademies @BHA_TQ

Key Stage 1 were lucky enough to have a very special visitor from @Waterstones book shop! She talked about some exciting books that we might like to read and answered questions about some of our favourites. @AETAcademies #readers

We LOVE reading in Seahorses class! Today, we had some quiet reading time to enjoy and share stories with our friends. Lots of us chose Julia Donaldson stories because we really enjoy spotting the rhyming words. @AETAcademies @BHA_TQ #Readers

Year 2 had a fabulous time celebrating #KingCharleslll coronation on Friday. We didn't let the weather dampen our spirits! We had our picnic inside the hall followed by some coronation activities. @AETAcademies #Coronation #Celebration

Year 2 had an amazing time at @NMAPlymouth earlier this week. We were lucky enough to have a tour of the aquarium as well as taking part in some fun science experiments! @BHA_TQ @AETAcademies

This week, Year 2 have been investigating 2D shapes and finding their lines of symmetry. We learnt how to be precise by using mirrors to check that our answers were correct. @BHA_TQ @AETAcademies #symmetry #mathematicians

Year 2 had a fantastic playtime playing in the snow! Some of us were learning how to make snow angels with our feet. We hope to see some more snow soon! @BhaYear2 @BHA_TQ

Today in Year 2, we had a very special guest. A firefighter from Torquay Fire Station came to tell us about the work that they do and how we can keep ourselves safe. We learnt lots of important facts that we could share with our families. @DSFireUpdates @AETAcademies @BHA_TQ
