I had just watched the interesting story of Sarkin Moto the popular Abuja car seller, where he took his followers back to the place he started from in Jabi, posting and advertising cars by the roadside and now, he has grown into a big office space.

I follow a lot of car sellers from Kano, Abuja and Kaduna on Instagram, and this is exactly how many of them started.

A young guy with no car and no office will partner with big car stands and car dealers, then drive the car to a beautiful street in town, usually a quiet area like GRA, just to create a clean and attractive background.

With only a phone, data and good marketing skills, they will show every part of the car, inside and outside, talk about the price, model, and whether it is Nigerian-used or foreign-used, then post it on Instagram. And trust me, people buy these cars.

If a car is going for ₦4 million from the seller, they may advertise it for ₦4.3 million. A buyer can bargain it down to about ₦4.1 million or ₦4.2 million. The extra ₦100k to ₦200k becomes their profit or commission on the sale. They repeat this many times every month and every year. Many of them also have access to very neat cars for people with different budgets.

I have written about this in the past, how people can make money online with just their mobile phones. This is just one example. You just need to know how to market. I told my wife sometimes back that as long as there is internet, forget it, I will always find something to do though I may not be rich sha except grace but I won't be broke. And this is one of hustles after Uni, though mine is land.
