1-minute rule a death knell for intermediate students in Telangana

Telangana intermediate student ends life after he was denied entry for being late to the exam

A total of 24 students were denied entry on Wednesday, the first day of the intermediate exams in #Telangana.

A 14-year-old student from Mangurla village in Jainad Mandal, Adilabad district, Shiva, took his own life after being denied entry to write his exam.

He was attending the Inter First Year English exam at TSS WR Junior College, arrived two minutes late, and was denied entry due to the strict rules.

This rejection led to immense mental distress for Shiva, who then penned a letter apologizing to his father before ending his life.

"I couldn’t take the exam due to the minute order. I can’t bear this pain. I am sorry, Father," the Intermediate student wrote before ending his life

The strict enforcement of the "one-minute late" rule has sparked controversy. Factors like traffic, and public transportation issues, can lead to students being late, which is not their fault.

Creating strict rules without taking into account the various challenges students encounter isn't fair.

‘65 million' years old #fossils found in Telangana

Fossils of Pagiophyllum , Pilophyllum and Taeniopteris plants, which became extinct about 65 million years ago, were found in Rampur village, Sirpur Khagaz Nagar mandal of Asifabad district #Telangana.

Samudrala Sunil a #paleontology enthusiast claimed that these fossils were found in clay pond used by locals for makung ceramic pipes. Apart from these plant fossils, other types of animal fossils have also been found in this area and more research is being done on them, he said.

Nusrat Babar, a PhD scholar at Gondwana University in Maharashtra, said that these Pagiophyllum plants lived from the Late #Jurassic period to the end of the Cretaceous period. Addanki Kiran, chairman of Addanki Foundation, also participated in this research.

వసతి గృహాల్లో విద్యార్థినిల వరుస ఆత్మహత్యలపై తక్షణమే ప్రభుత్వం సమగ్ర విచారణ జరిపాలి. ప్రతి వసతి/ఆశ్రమ/గురుకుల పాఠశాలకు ఒక సైకాలజిస్టు లేదా కౌన్సిలర్ ను వెంటనే నియమించాలి. సంఘటనకు కారకులైన వ్యక్తులను వెంటనే శిక్షించాలి. మృతురాలి కుటుంబానికి ఎక్స్ గ్రేషియాతో పాటు,కుటుంబంలో ఒకరికి ప్రభుత్వ  ఉద్యోగం ఇవ్వాలని #BSP డిమాండ్ చేస్తున్నది.

Before the painful memories of death of two girl students last week faded away, another girl student Vaishnavi ended her life in Suryapet Social Welfare Residential School last night. Govt in Telangana, with no minister to look into, seems unconcerned with what’s happening in education sector.
