@XcessCars, it's always important for us to be honest.
This is the car in question. I understand the dealers may have felt you were trying to undermine their business, but from our inspection, that vehicle had been refurbished and, in our opinion, was not worth the ₦10 million asking price.
Here is the car below

Among the issues we identified were:
- A manual A/C compressor conversion.
- Evidence that the lower part of the engine had been worked on.
- A replaced head gasket, indicating previous overheating, along with several other concerns.
This car won't have given this client peace of mind
You know me, and you know my team. If you had reached out to ask for our opinion on the vehicle, we would have gladly shared our findings. Our goal has always been to help people make informed decisions, not to be "overwise mechanics."
Nigerians deserve value for the money they spend on cars.
Many dealers know how we operate. We tell it exactly as we see it. We don't ask for "settlement" to hide faults, and even when we're sourcing vehicles for clients, we respect their decision if they choose to have another dealer's car inspected.
We're always open to working with dealers. Engage our team, and we'll help protect your reputation by identifying problematic vehicles before they get to your customers. We also offer discounted inspection rates for dealers because we believe long-term trust is better for everyone.
But calling us "overwise mechanics" is one characterization I simply can't agree with.
Posting this so no other tourist falls victim to this scammer.
This is a popular beach guy called Ibrahim also popularly called Ability by the locals and other beach boys.
Ibrahim is a scammer. He and his crew look for unsuspecting tourists and trick them into paying him for activities or tours. His MO is to pretend like he’s negotiating the best deal with you, offer you a fake receipt and then run away with your money. He stops picking calls, blocks you and anyone else he may have linked you with (usually drivers he connects you with) and will not unblock them until he’s sure you’ve left the country.
They have a whole ring. I’ll post a video with more details on how they operate but avoid them. I heard they even scammed a particular tourist of up to $3,000… the local police won’t help you either.
AVOID THE BEACH BOYS and avoid Ibrahim especially. Repost! You might be saving someone.
