After being away from the board for almost 5 years, I was honestly hesitant to even participate. But some things never really leave you.
No matter how long the break, it seems I still have it in me. Huge thanks to Patralekha for pushing me to step in—it truly belongs to her as much as to me. Winning three matches back-to-back gave me a much-needed boost of confidence, especially at this stage of PhD life.
There was even a moment where one of the state-level players got quite frustrated after losing. I couldn’t resist saying: “Don’t worry, you just lost to a two-time national player.”
