- Native Americans weren’t here “from the beginning.” Their ancestors crossed the Bering Land Bridge from Siberia 15,000–20,000 years ago.
- Once they got here, tribes conquered, displaced, and built empires over each other (Comanches pushed out the Apache and built the Comancheria — sound familiar?).
- Every single piece of land on earth has changed hands through conquest. That’s how human history works.

She nails it:
“What you call stolen, I call conquered.”

Then she drops the line that actually matters:

America 🇺🇸 and Canada 🇨🇦 took it, kept it, defended it, and built the greatest Countries the world has ever seen — with more freedom, opportunity, and prosperity than any of those tribal empires ever dreamed of.

On the 4th of July she’s celebrating 250 years of that progress… not raiding villages and scalping people.

This is the response every “land acknowledgment” warrior needs to hear.

Certains partisans du #CH me sidèrent.

Le club le plus jeune de la NHL, à l'an 4 de sa reconstruction, était supposé se battre jusqu'à la toute fin pour participer aux séries.

Ils ont terminé 6e au classement général.

Ont battu les 5e en première ronde.

Ont battu les 4e en deuxième ronde.

Et oui, ils ont frappé un mur en finale de conférence. EN FINALE DE CONFÉRENCE. À l'an 4 de leur reconstruction. Après avoir disputé 14 matchs enlevants pendant que leur adversaire a eu près de 2 semaines pour remplir le réservoir.

Vous pensiez quoi, que ça allait être une balade dans le parc?

Au minimum, ce jeune groupe-là va avoir joué 19 matchs de séries cette saison. 19!! C'est fou l'expérience qu'ils ont gagné à travers ça. À quel point ça va leur servir au cours des prochaines saisons!

Les jeunes vont continuer à se développer. D'autres espoirs de qualité viendront graduellement se greffer au groupe (Hage, Zharovsky, Reinbacher et peut-être d'autres).

Et KH le sait, la priorité, c'est un 2e centre. Il a les éléments pour en acquérir un.

Ce club là a LARGEMENT dépassé les attentes. Sa progression est hallucinante.

Et une maudite bonne nouvelle par-dessus tout ça: Le Canadien a un solide gardien #1 devant le filet. Jakub Dobes est extrêmement impressionnant.

Bref, si on regarde la forêt au lieu de se coller le nez sur l'arbre, on y voit pas mal plus de positif. Je comprends évidemment la déception des partisans. Vous avez le droit. C'est justifié. Mais avant d'envoyer les joueurs et l'entraîneur sous le bus, pensez au chemin complet qu'ils ont parcouru cette saison. Ça met les choses en perspective. Et c'est encourageant en tabarouette pour la suite!
