I enjoy being queer and soft and happy, and talking/writing about fatness, fairytales & food โ๐งโจ
Guy on the bus 2 seats over from me watching Andrew Tate videos out loud... I've never felt safer! Desperately hoping it's a critique video but it doesn't seem like it
The comfort-watch of Ghosts S4 commences now and I am so. Ready. Won't be watching all in one go, but going to get off to a good start before bed tonight ๐ป
Few things could make me happier than THIS author on THIS film and topic; PLUS this essay is just one in an anthology, with the perfect name, that I WILL devour at some point this spooky season! An awesome read, even if you don't personally agree with CMM about this film!
In an exclusive excerpt from the queer horror anthology It Came From the Closet โ out from @FeministPress on Oct 4 โ Carmen Maria Machado writes on queerbaiting, bisexuality, and Jenniferโs Body. https://t.co/uWDceGmtbG
Thought his claw was stuck - it wasn't, he was simply pawing at the window while staring at the neighbours. However, as a result he IS now stuck, but he hissed at me, so I can't help him...
On a rare work from home day. My landlady's cats love to sit in this bay windowsill in the room that has become my study. Today Simba is stationed there and is side-eyeing me every time he hears me crunch a crisp ๐
Deeply surreal to be sitting upstairs in my bedroom, reading tweets that no longer surprise me about the royals trying to funnel funds for the most vulnerable into heating Buckingham Palace, with the funeral coverage coming loudly from downstairs.
@benbutonline oh absolutely, I do understand that it would reflect 'badly', cause more drama & bad press. mostly just upsets me that you even have to take that into account. and it's not actually postponing a strike, it's postponing a vote on that strike, AND any messaging on that vote
working for a trade union: based
working for a trade union that halts industrial action 'out of respect' for the death of the Queen: decidedly less based...
@liederfollower Thank you Caroline! We are hoping we can do away with them as a member of our team is actually allergic and having to hide away, but that isn't being looked on as terribly important unfortunately :(
It's my turn on the enquiries desk at work, stationed right next to a huge bouquet of lilies and a book of remembrance for the Queen. When I tell you that you can smell these lilies on all 3 floors of the library. They are so pungent at this close range I feel quite ill.
It's only 8am and I've just seen a man wearing a t-shirt that says 'I can tell it's going to be a duct tape, rope and shovel kind of day' .... I hate it here
In happier news, I've realised that instead of describing myself as a queer person in libraries, I can simply say 'bi-brarian', which is endlessly amusing to me. And I am rewarding myself after working a Saturday shift by trying the fish and chip shop at the end of my road!
