All Americans should be outraged by this attack on our nation’s Capitol. This is a heinous and violent assault on the heart of our democracy. I will not stand for this, and neither should any American.
If you want to see what radicalization looks like; if you want proof that the President’s words matter, turn your eyes to the Capitol Building to see what ordinary people will do when they are on a steady diet of misinformation and conspiracy theories.
It is sad that so many Americans have such little faith in our democracy. It is even sadder that most of these individuals consider themselves “patriots”

I agree with Pompeo’s attempt to distinguish between China and the Communist Party. The problem is that Trump and his cohorts OFTEN undo this by framing our issues with China in terms of cultural superiority or zero-sum economics.
America innovates in tech because it has never been afraid to take risks and fail. Competition works, and the hottest cauldron produces the strongest steel. The same is true of ideas, of creativity, of literature. Freedom is the lifeblood of art.
