Our scoping review identified barriers and facilitators to accessing and utilising #mentalhealth services in rural Australia. We need more research in #rural Australia to better appreciate geographical differences in service needs. https://t.co/BbYo0zhj98
To obtain a complete picture of #mentalhealth ED presentations in the Barwon South West, we used rurally-collected data to supplement the VEMD. Read our latest publication here: https://t.co/KvpJPzxx3k

Great news for Victorian public hospitals and aged care facilities. I was lucky enough to contribute to some of the data analysis for this review through an internship that I completed with DHHS in the final stages of my PhD. #haveanimpact
This is massive and fantastic news for all Victorians — our public hospitals will soon see healthier food, vending machines free from sugary drinks and more!
Important leadership from @MartinFoleyMP & @VicGovDH.

The last paper from my PhD is now online! We found that women with co-occurring #personalitydisorder and other common mental disorders had increased use of general health (but not mental health) services. @IMPACTDeakin@GeelongStudy#haveanimpact

These disorders plus addictions suicide and personality disorders need to be added under the umbrella of mental disorders to capture the full burden of the latter. Which rivals and maybe exceeds cancer and CVD.
Wow this is pretty astounding.. but I am not surprised, it makes sense. How will ECRs survive without funding (and without being able to demonstrate leadership) until they are in their late 30's and 40's? @nhmrc @GregHuntMP @TheASMR1@FellowsNational
It's OCD and #Anxiety Disorders Week.
Phrases such as "I'm so OCD" are often thrown around to describe someone's cleanliness. But #OCD is so much more than that - people with this disorder have obsessive thoughts which lead to compulsive actions.
