I would love to speak with a #LDS just to ask questions about the inconsistencies of what they believe compared to historical Christianity. Not to speak of personal testimony, but of what the Bible says vs. what they’ve been told.

@ScottK I never said it was? But I would argue that outside of the LDS church, there’s been common core beliefs in Christianity since the time of Christ.

@TeacherOfThing1 The historical issues are a big issue for me as well. Such as, the book of Abraham, DNA, archeological evidence, the issues with Joseph Smith.

@TeacherOfThing1 The very nature of God is different in LDS scriptures compared to the Bible. I would argue it’s a completely different god. As well as the way the words of LDS prophets are handled (whether it really is the words of God or fallible man).

Was just made aware recently that #mormon temple endowments have been changed from the way they were done previously. Not big changes, but certain language around women have been changed? Just curious what caused this…

Also curious about the #mormon “second anointing” that it seems is invitation only? The biblical view is that all are the same in the eyes of God and all have the opportunity for eternal life?

@whitecatprophcy I’m a Christian, but have never been mormon. Very curious about the religion itself, and what causes people to fall away. I don’t think Mormonism is biblical in any sense, so I would like to be able to encourage exmormons that what they’ve been tought about God isn’t true.

@JasonLewsader Well, if you believe that it really happened in 1820, that isn’t really plausible because everybody was having visions of some sort during that time in the burned over district. So that isn’t a viable option.

@JasonLewsader I’ve also heard that explanation as well. That he emphasized certain parts to certain people. But why change the actual fundamental makeup of the story to do so?
