A 36-minute documentary accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and industrialist Gautam Adani of corruption and cronyism is circulating widely on X (formerly Twitter), days after Mumbai Police served notices on at least 24 users for sharing it.
The film, titled “How Adani and Modi stole India”, was made by Sabeer Bhatia, the Indian-American entrepreneur who co-founded Hotmail. According to Hindustan Times, it questions business dealings, land allocations and government decisions over two decades, and alleges corruption, collusion and corporate cronyism. The allegations in the film have not been established in any judicial finding.

If the roles of investigator, prosecutor, and adjudicator are blended in a single agency, can the process be considered fair, independent, and reasonable?

It's not only the pandals. Delhi police and paramilitary forces suddenly came out in full force with sirens blaring & cleared entire CR Park at 11 PM
On being asked it multiple officials of @DelhiPolice said permission has been granted only till 11 PM
Quite surreal to see such scenes in Durga Puja
From Prof Biswajit Dhar, a resident of Chittaranjan Park: Yesterday (Saturday 17 October) evening, about 20 CRPF jawans armed with lathis marched into the B Block Puja Pandal in CR Park at 11.30 pm, when large number of people were celebrating the festival with family and friends. The Puja Committee members strongly protested against this intrusion and chased them out. I took this video when they were outside the main gate. Several of us lent our voices in support of the Puja Committee members arguing that any police interference in our most important festival was just not acceptable. Durga Puja is not a festival for only the Bengalis, but all other communities also get together to enjoy themselves. This is what I have seen for as long I can remember. Why then were paramilitary forces sent to spoil the atmosphere in such a festival? Should we now expect intimidation by the paramilitary forces whenever we congregate? We must demand answers before it is too late.
A narrative is being set that it was because of protesters that shopkeepers are forced to shut their shops. But local journalists covering the protest say, Protestors, scores of them were buying stuff from local shops. It was the police that asked the shopkeepers to shut down their shops for “some time.” This was at Mandi House yesterday.

When 'dhandho' is the order of the day, even staging (or taking part in) a protest costs money

🚨 UPDATE
The detainees are being released after HOURS of extrajudicial torture & detention. This group of 50-60 detainees INCLUDES MINORS.
SPREAD THIS STORY EVERYWHERE. Let it bring us global shame.
Shame on you @DelhiPolice@AmitShah. Anyone with dignity would resign now.
Here is what we need right now:
ALL EYES ON PANDWALA KHURD COMMUNITY CENTRE.
A hostile crowd is now forming outside the centre. Cops are feral. Everyone is on high alert.
We need to ensure the detainees make it out ALIVE, if not unscathed.
REPOST AND CIRCULATE THIS NOW.
Some brave detainees found a phone & called us with these updates. But they're scared that if seen with phones, they will be tortured again.
As of 9.15 PM, doctors are enroute Pandwalan Khurd. They will be delayed by closures in Central Delhi and other state forces.
Remember, no detainee had their phones on them. They had NO IDEA where they were.
They had been on the road for hours. Beaten up. Several fractures. Dizzy. Scared for their lives. This includes MINORS.
Shortly after, @DelhiPolice cut off electricity at the community centre.
This bus circled around Kapashera and Najafgarh for an hour. They knew lawyers were waiting for them at Kapashera and Chhawla PS.
They touched Chhawla PS by 6.53 PM & fled promptly.
By 7.30 PM, they touch Pandwalan Gaon. By 8 PM, they were forced into a community centre there.
The detainees were told, time and again, that nothing will happen to them if they cooperated.
They did. And then they got brutalised. One by one, in those tiny bus compartments—everyone was hit.
An officer identified to lead this extrajudicial violence is named ARVIND KUMAR.
They then profiled & selected some detainees and took them into buses used for convicts, with tiny compartments & no airflow.
@DelhiPolice then BEAT THEM UP, black & blue. It was described to us as "merciless thrashing" with only screams escaping that suffocating, jail-like bus.
Peaceful protestors were detained from CP & taken to LIC—in a space sealed off from lawyers, journalists, crowds.
They were made to kneel down in a row. Cops frisked them & physically snatched all their phones.
One by one, they deleted videos and photos, and kept their phones.
This is the most horrific detention story you will hear today.
At 8 PM, this bus stopped at a community centre in Pandwalan Khurd (see photo).
Detainees fractured. Four minors present. Everyone barbarically beaten up. No lawyers allowed to enter.
This is how we got here. ⬇️
To remind everyone again, whatever is happening today is the result of miscarriage of Justice from CJI Bench on the SIR case on West Bengal. Esp when they said, “let them vote next time”
Supreme Court denied political citizenship to millions which it meant to protect!
Most middle class people say this is taxation without representation. Even if they have Aadhaar cards, PAN cards &
Passports they still don’t have a right to vote.
The fact that so many of us have received notices from the EC proves that the govt & its stooges believe that when it comes to robbing us blind with taxes the government regards us as Indians
But when it comes to choosing politicians at elections we are foreigners until we prove otherwise.
And then passports, PAN cards & Aadhar cards are suddenly not enough to prove we are Indian.
