I extend my deepest condolences to the families of the civilians killed today in Yaqshiid district by the increasingly repressive regime of the President whose mandate has expired, in the campaign of mass evictions to displace them from their homes. My thoughts are with all those wounded, and I pray for their recovery.

It is an unthinkable calamity that the former President is deploying against his own people their own security forces and weapons of every description, including heavy military-grade weapons donated to Somalia expressly and exclusively for the fight against terror.
