6. Students are guarding all temples of Hindu brothers located in Noakhali city and assuring them about security...

The whole situation stemmed from a "quota reformation" protest. The then govt. killed students who were protesting peacefully. As an outcome, a mass protest/march took place to make the govt. step down.
This had NOTHING to do with religion.
