@Strangeland_Elf@realDailyWire Sadly these alternate platforms always will until more moderates and non-political users begin to join and use the platform.
@NotSparkie23@B0ss8Bit@mapomeke @LoyalFlar3 @pokimanelol Calculating deaths by population is a far better metric, which is why Gov. statistic websites use it. The average Flu is ~200 per million.
I won’t argue that COVID isn’t bad, especially for the elderly. I will say that our current strategy of stay home and shut up is bad.
@NotSparkie23@B0ss8Bit@mapomeke @LoyalFlar3 @pokimanelol Your calculation is based on an under reported figure (cases) and an over reported figure (deaths).
The UK states outright that a COVID death is any death within 28 days of a positive test.
@Bod_Aly @TheWhiteLivesM1@DailyMirror I wouldn’t consider that to be the same at all. However, if you believe there’s no chance of the “COVID Passport” idea then this conversation is pointless.
@SunderlandLolly @paysupplystaff @MailOnline From an evolutionary standpoint it is sensible.
Endangering the lives of the young to extend the lives of the old is not an idea engrained into any species.
We should certainly seek the optimal solution with the ideal of helping everyone, but also take the logical approach.
@DeborahParr@SunderlandLolly @paysupplystaff @MailOnline Isn’t it rather the opposite? Considering dying due to illness is a natural death, whereas dying due to mental illness, poverty or starvation as a result of lockdown is an unnatural death with someone to blame.
@Bod_Aly @TheWhiteLivesM1@DailyMirror We know the nature of the virus, but we have no idea of the long term effects of the vaccine or it’s effect on people with certain health conditions. People just have to be cautious and do what they believe is best for them, their loved ones and society as a whole.
@Bod_Aly @TheWhiteLivesM1@DailyMirror No doubt, as I said in my other reply, it’s definitely worth it for those who are in the vulnerable category. However, this virus does discriminate, and for those who’ve already gotten over it, is it really worth the risk in taking the vaccine too?
@Bod_Aly @TheWhiteLivesM1@DailyMirror If I was in the extremely vulnerable category, 70+ with underlying health conditions, I’d be rushing to the front of the queue.
@Bod_Aly @TheWhiteLivesM1@DailyMirror Definitely, however many are rightfully concerned that taking this vaccine carries more risk than COVID itself. Especially for people in situations similar to my own, having had COVID, but the symptoms being milder than the common cold.
@NewNormalMan123@DmitryTsygankov@ATuttle85@NickEdd1@kyle221998 @TheDispatcherHQ I would’ve also preferred if the money that was spent paying furlough payments to people who could’ve worked, should’ve gone further into healthcare, and to people like yourself and other vulnerable individuals.
@NewNormalMan123@DmitryTsygankov@ATuttle85@NickEdd1@kyle221998 @TheDispatcherHQ For me it’s not about true “freedom”, but about the freedom to allow individuals to do what’s best for them, and encouraging them to take the extra precautions to keep safe but, Government shouldn’t be enforcing this.
