Bitcoin is coming to SOAP.
This Quai Friday, we’re breaking down the announcement of $BTC support for SOAP, the Bitcoin miners endgame, and how Quai is bringing Proof-of-Work together.
Tomorrow at 11 AM CDT.
Set your reminder below:
eight people sealed themselves inside a glass world in the arizona desert in 1991, planning to breathe the same trapped air for two years. then the air started going away. no leak, no alarm. just a little less oxygen every week, and for months nobody could say where it went…
inside the dome they had built a whole miniature earth: a rainforest, a saltwater ocean with a living coral reef, a mangrove swamp, a desert, and a farm they had to eat from or starve. the idea was to prove people could wall themselves off from the planet and survive. instead the planet inside slowly stopped cooperating.
the oxygen kept falling, from the normal 21 percent down toward 14, the thin air of a mountain summit. the crew got winded climbing their own stairs and struggled to finish sentences. they were also constantly hungry, losing weight on a farm that never quite fed them, and by the end the eight had split into two silent halves that could barely stand each other.
the answer, when they finally found it, was almost insulting. microbes in the rich soil were eating the oxygen and breathing out carbon, and the bare concrete walls were quietly drinking the carbon back in, so the gas simply vanished from the count. in january 1993 they had to pump oxygen in from outside just to keep everyone upright.
they built a tiny earth to prove we could someday leave the big one. it could not keep eight people breathing for two years. sit with what that says about the backup plan.
EVERY AI MODEL YOU USE WAS BUILT THE SAME WAY. ONLY 1% OF PEOPLE KNOW THE PIPELINE.
Most people think ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini are completely different.
They're not.
Under the hood, they all follow almost the exact same five-stage pipeline. The difference isn't how they're built—it's what each company optimizes at every stage.
A hallucination isn't "AI being stupid."
A refusal isn't "the model is broken."
A weak answer usually isn't something a better prompt can fix.
Each problem comes from a different stage of training, and once you understand that, you stop fighting the model and start working with it.
The biggest shift for me wasn't learning to write better prompts.
It was realizing that every answer you get today was shaped months or even years before you opened the chat.
The data.
The training.
The alignment.
The deployment.
Your prompt is only the final 1% of the pipeline.
The best AI users aren't the people who memorize prompts.
They're the ones who understand how the machine thinks.
That's where the real edge starts.

🧠 This farmer came up with a surprisingly clever way to deal with rats in his field.
After noticing they were damaging his crops, he used a homemade blower to send chili smoke through their underground tunnels. As the smoke spread, the rats started running out from different openings.
By watching where the smoke appeared, he was able to figure out how the tunnels were connected and waited at the exits to catch the rats as they came out.
It is impressive to see the amount of thought that went into solving the problem using simple tools and careful observation. Have you ever seen a method like this before? 🤔
Wall Street pays you to be calm. Then kills you for it
a vol trader in chicago told me quietest money on street and the most brutal
"retail buys insurance. we sell it. every single day. and we get paid to"
i asked why that isn't suicide
"because market is calm 80% of the time. calm is default. fear is exception"
here's the part that should make you uncomfortable
VIX futures curve is normally in contango
near-term vol is cheap, far-term is expensive
every day curve rolls down toward spot and whoever is short that curve collects roll. automatically
it's:
> called volatility risk premium
> been paying out for decades
> market's fee for letting you sleep
but here's twist they don't put on retail:
curve rolling down isn't luck, it's structural
when front-month VIX is below the 2nd month by more than ~1 point, shorting the roll earns ~1-2% a month, nearly risk-free
catch is the 20% of the time it's not calm: that's when one week wipes out two years
free data. VIX futures term structure is published by CBOE every morning
save this post before next vol spike
they kept you buying the dip. the desk was selling the calm
