@plowe315 Two rare migrants in the same day. That's amazing. I was very lucky to see a LTB further inland this year, but the CYs elude me. Thank you so much for the pointer. Fingers crossed at least one is still around.
@marktutton25 @ukhelenbennett Thanks. It seems to be a good year for them and great to know they are breeding here. If sightings become more common I wonder if they may be considered as a 'UK' species. I may start growing sweet peas in my garden, just in case!
Amazed to see a #longtailedblue butterfly at Aston Rowant Nature Reserve amongst the hundred of Adonis and Chalk Hill Blues. Its such a rare migrant to our shores. Ironic it should 'holiday' in the UK when we're having such a terrible summer! #astonrowant
@marktutton25 @ukhelenbennett An interesting thought. You might expect to see damage to the tails or eye spots after a long migration. The upper wing appeared in good condition too.
@KS_Photo67 Thanks. I saw its bluey/brown upper wing at first and assumed it was probably another female Adonis or Brown Argus, and nearly didnt bother taking a picture. Very surreal when I saw those eye spots and realised what it was.
One of my favourite species photographed this year, the elusive #brownhairstreak at Shipton Bellinger. That's the first time I've captured all of the hairstreaks in one season.
@idwatts @ehbpollard It was actually on Sunday, mid afternoon. I originally posted then tagging the official Aston Rowant NN account, thinking they would retweet, but they didn't.
@Kayrock100@destructo9000 I'm away that night too. ๐ Shame. I'd have been up for that in Oxford. I'm in town now for Frankie Boyle, then again Wednesday for Tim Vine. Talk about contrasting styles of comedy. Have a great time in Ljubljana.
@Kayrock100@SweeneyandTodds Oooh. That's good to know. Thanks Kay. I don't often venture off campus and into town, but this would be reason too. I wonder how much of the usual range will be available?
@ITV hang your head in shame. Watching a programme on #itvplayer and it freezes every single ad break. Having to switch off and on and then resume each time, so forced to watch ads again. And no I'm not paying for the ad free service. Such a cynical ploy. Will watch ITV less now
@Snoopcreature1 Agreed. Sweden look very good and deserve to be ahead. Have already switched the commentary from BBC1 to the red button. Marginally better.
Finally got to see the brilliant @AustenImpro tonight, 18months after I got to the theatre to find Boris had shut it down. Pleased that theatres have survived. Such a great cast but the fabulous Charlotte with her 4 gorgeous knuckles stole the show for me.
Bamboozled tonight's @NerinaPallot gig isn't a sell out. What is wrong with the folk of Newbury? You're missing out on an incredible singer. I challenge you to listen to Love Will Tear Us Apart and not be blown away.
