@NEBHSFB @NebPublicMedia That’s mostly what I was getting at. Memorial is a cool place to play the championship, but a Monday morning for those small classes seems like a slap in the face a bit. I don’t know what the right answer is, but it seems like there’s gotta be a better way to reward those kids.

I would also argue that a lot of kids used to go out for sports to hang out with their friends or be a part of something. I can think of a number of times kids who went out as freshman and sophomores just to “do something” end up developing into good players at the high school level. That doesn’t happen near as much anymore.

@kodysalz @gleesonfarms @nsaahome Would be fun just to have 1 site for each class and they play all their district finals in one location to be able to go to Lincoln. Almost an extension of the state tournament. A lot of competitive games in one day.

Yes. And while I think this year is an improvement and probably got the best teams into the district final, I don’t know if every year that will be the case. There were a couple subdistricts that were still way more loaded than others, and it’s only because they got grouped into the same region.

@iKalebHenry I would guess they want to be in the playoff. There’s 0 incentive for playing “brands” in the regular season. Take as many wins as you can in the nonconference because the conference schedule will be brutal.
