I’m convinced that the Yankees know less about baseball than any fan of the sport. Whenever they opine about anything other than the Yankees it makes no sense.
If I was a Mets fan my crash out would be memorable
Brewers - in the World Series - traded their starter for elite prospects.... he stinks.... traded him for a bag of balls to Rays - leads them to the World Series
I think this will be a great series. Pitching, defense, base running, strategy. Small ball with enough power mixed in. A minimum of “launch angle” and “exit velo” talk. The nerds might not be enthralled but the rest of us might be.
The baseball “fans” that are complaining are casuals who helicopter in every October. If it isn’t the Dodgers, Yankees, a national team like the Cubs or Red Sox, or a big market team they don’t want to watch. We pay them zero attention.
We're getting a World Series of two small market teams who have never won a championship but the most braindead, insufferable baseball fans will tell you that's a bad thing
It’s funny seeing Knicks fans slowly realize that nobody cares about their Championship. It changed nothing. Nobody outside NYC has Brunson top 5. Nobody has him in any all-time talks. Nobody has him in “best of his generation” talks with Jokic SGA Giannis or Embiid. And everybody already knows he’s not winning another one so he’ll never make it to those talks.
He doesn’t have the motion/too ugly to be a cover athlete. All the celebrity bandwagons and people who pretended to care have left by now. Everybody moved on to the World Cup.
Brunson will retire and kids on TikTok will call him ball knowledge within 5 years. I almost feel bad. Literally all they got out of this was “No Larry?”
Potential first base options that the Mets need to consider this offseason:
1. Jake Bauers
2. Teruaki Sato
3. Ty France
4. Paul Goldschmidt
Jared Young is a good utility guy, but I don’t think he’s a starter on a good baseball team.
OTD 20 years ago, the Cardinals and Mets played one of the most memorable Postseason games ever
An unbelievable catch, a clutch home run from an unlikely source and the game ending with the bases loaded? Game 7 of the 2006 NLCS had it all 🍿
@ohremzel People like this are the same people who go to social media with hour long, multi-video diatribes when they have the slightest inconvenience on a date.
Brunson is the only Captain in NY sports that I’d compare to Messier, or Willis Reed. Just always has the desire to win. If I’m forgetting someone else let me know who you think is an apt comparison.
Jalen Brunson on Knicks fans seeing a new banner raised tomorrow night:
"They deserve it. This is something that's been brewing for a long time...to share this moment with them is definitely going to be special."
With Teruaki Sato posting early, the Mets should be uber aggressive. Baseball turned a blind eye to Munetaka Murakami last offseason — if I’m New York, don’t let another potential Japanese superstar slip through the cracks.
I wonder what NY would be like if all the teams were competitive playoff contenders at the same time. We’ve had years when the Jets & Giants were both good, when the Mets & Yanks were, when the Rangers, Isles & Devils were. What would happen if it happened within the same year?
Liberty got swept.
Yankees got swept.
Mets didn’t even make the playoffs.
Giants lost.
Jets lost.
Rangers lost their last two.
NYCFC hasn’t won in three games.
Red Bulls lost.
Gotham lost.
Nets best players are MPJ/Randle.
New York needs a QUICK FIX Tuesday cannot come soon enough.
