I’ve come to realise that it’s not just about the players we have on paper. The 3-4-3 gives us a different edge in attack. it brings out the best in our attacking strengths.

Xabi Alonso’s tactical decisions cost us those two points against Hull City.

He already knew we had a midfield problem, so the priority should have been to lean into what was working for us and keep scoring. Playing a back four only disrupted the attacking flow without solving the real problem.

If we had stayed with what was workes against Leeds, Brighton and Fulham and we scored four, there’s no way Hull City were scoring more than three.

It's all gone now. I hope he learns from it.
