@GenX_1177@Farzin21 Seattle was able to do it and is arguably right behind Arrowhead in not only fan noise but feeling like they’re right on top of the field.
@lsprogress@Anthony_Hugo98@kcstreetcar And are more expensive to operate with less appeal. What’s the point if nobody rides it. It’s a trade off - streetcars operate a lot more efficiently with higher up front cost whereas busses are cheaper to start and immediately have infinite route possibilities
@lsprogress@Anthony_Hugo98@kcstreetcar That’s the downside, but the cost of construction is always going to be cheapest now. Public service doesn’t have to be a money maker if it’s efficient and handled right. Take parks for example - we happily spend money for open space that’ll never recoup construction costs
@QuintonLucasKC@jonkinder816 Add 20% to all prices, don’t call it a tip and remove the tip line from the bill. In fact make sure to remind me that it was already included and not to add more.
@PatrickTuohey decisions were made based on greed. Nobody thought to challenge the claims, nor use reasonable judgement. I don't understand why anybody in Johnson County thought any foreign visitor was going to hang out in the suburbs.
@lsprogress@Anthony_Hugo98@kcstreetcar Streetcars are inherently cheaper to run. Steel wheels on rail, coupled with electric motors are a lot more efficient in the long run to operate. With gas prices always on the rise, the long term play would be to expand as much as possible.
@16bitnostalgia And they didn’t enforce space on goal kicks. You could time it just right, block the goal kick and score a goal…over and over. Nothing like 20 goals a game
@fiago7 Not all burgers are created equal. There are classes based on what I call the price-quality index. Sonic, Whataburger and a Whopper are similar. In-n-out is great for the price. Shake shack is great and so is Five Guys, but I’m not paying $15 for a burger.
@japan_nobunaga A - Missouri. But it depends on the service. I don’t tip if I’m putting the order in on an iPad and picking up from the counter. I don’t tip fast food either - but a few places are starting to ask.
@axelsoiv@G748494John@DaveyScuba I only follow MLS, and I agree. What you see is the confluence of two types of American soccer fans - those who follow MLS (and are generally insecure about it - therefore think they need Euro culture to fit in) and those who watch the World Cup and laugh at it
@DaveyScuba This is so true. You want college football loving Americans to watch soccer? Quit pretending like we need to role play as Europeans to enjoy it.
